STANDARDS MALAYSIA is the National Accreditation Body and is responsible for :

  • Providing accreditation for conformity assessment bodies;
  • Maintaining a register of acrredited organisations and their certification marks;
  • Representing Malaysia in regional and international accreditation activities;
  • Facilitating recognition of accredited certificates and organisations at the regional and international level.

The STANDARDS MALAYSIA accreditation system is in accordance to the international standard, MS ISO/IEC 17011 to ensure that the accreditation services provided are impartial, non-discriminatory and credible. The STANDARS MALAYSIA accreditation system are ensured fair and impartial through 3 operational levels i.e.; a) strategy and policy, b) decision and c) assessments.

The STANDARDS MALAYSIA Accreditation services are ensured non-discriminatory and is open to and accessible by any conformity assessment body, irrespective of government or private bodies that fulfills the accreditation conditions specified and published by STANDARDS MALAYSIA. Conformity assessment bodies includes testing & calibration laboratories, certification bodies and inspection bodies.

Regional and International Recognitions Malaysia

Malaysia, through STANDARDS MALAYSIA has been accepted as a signatory to various regional and international arrangements. At the regional level STANDARDS MALAYSIA is a signatory to the Asia Pacific Laboratory Accreditation Cooperation (APLAC) Mutual Recognition Arrangement (MRA) and Pacific Accreditation Cooperation (PAC) Multilateral Recognition Arrangement (MLA). As for at the international level, STANDARDS MALAYSIA is a signatory to the International Laboratory Accreditation Cooperation (ILAC) Mutual Recognition Arrangement (MRA) and International Accreditation Forum (IAF) Multilateral Recognition Arrangement (MLA).
